Motorcycle Inspection in Turkey: Interval, Booking, Fail
Turkey motorcycle inspection: two- and three-wheelers first at 3 years, then every 2 years. e-Devlet date, TÜVTÜRK booking, helmet, brakes, exhaust. MTV and insurance are separate.
Inspection, MTV, and insurance are separate jobs
Periodic inspection checks that the vehicle still meets a technical floor. MTV is a cylinder and age tax. Traffic insurance is compulsory third-party cover. Do not treat one appointment as all three. MTV: Turkey Motorcycle MTV, Notary, Title 2026: Table and Transfer Insurance: How to Choose Motorcycle Insurance: Cover and Premium
TÜVTÜRK runs stations under the transport ministry. Dates and results sit in e-Devlet. This article does not invent a fee table. Price moves with station and year.
Interval: first three years, then every two
The vehicle inspection stations regulation puts two- or three-wheel vehicles on a first inspection at the end of three years from the manufacture date on the certificate of conformity, then every two years. That is the same rhythm as a private car. Do not paste a commercial van’s yearly clock onto a motorcycle.
At first registration the clock starts from the conformity-certificate date, not the showroom handshake. Confirm the ruhsat date in e-Devlet: https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/muayene-durum-sorgulama The regulation text is in the Official Gazette. Do not paste this paragraph onto an invoice.
Booking and stations
Official booking: https://reservation.tuvturk.com.tr/web.ui/Index.aspx Pick motorcycle. Queues vary. Some sites are motorcycle-only. Elsewhere the brake test is on the pad, not a car roller.
The rider wears a helmet. Stations describe an external visor or goggles when there is no screen. Arrive with a readable plate, working lights, and a side stand. A sidecar changes width and payload and needs a project.
What they look at
Lights, signals, brakes, tires, frame number, exhaust leaks. An unreadable VIN fails. Chassis check: Motorcycle VIN / Chassis Number Check When Buying Aftermarket exhaust can fail noise or emissions: Motorcycle Aftermarket Exhaust: Sound, Power, Legal, ECU
Inspection does not replace an oil change. Intervals stay in the manual: Motorcycle Service Schedule: A Mileage-Based First-Season Plan
Fail and retest
A failed bike returns within the retest window in the regulation. First fail is not a ban. Dead lights, tire tread, leaks, and a stamped-over VIN are common. Retest fees live on the station tariff, not in this article.
After a crash, traffic police can demand a special inspection even if the periodic date is still valid. Untaxed mods can too.
Lapse and sale
Riding past the date risks a fine and a hold. Notary transfer often asks for inspection and MTV clearance. Buying checklist: 15 Critical Checks Before Buying a Used Motorcycle: Complete Checklist
Put the date in a garage reminder. The product does not replace the statutory clock. Log: RPMVault motorcycle garage

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a new bike inspect immediately?
No. Two- and three-wheelers are described as first due at three years from the conformity-certificate manufacture date. Your ruhsat and e-Devlet date bind.
Is inspection the same day I pay MTV?
No. MTV is January and July instalments. Inspection is a separate period.
Is a helmet required at the station?
TÜVTÜRK copy says the rider has a helmet. Ask the station about goggles if there is no screen. Inspection does not replace a CE helmet mark.
Will a changed exhaust fail?
Noise, leaks, emissions, and an unregistered change can fail. So can an unprojected sidecar.
